Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how BS Inspector (operated by Sawary Trading LLC) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and the Chrome extension’s chrome.storage API) on our website at bsinspector.com and in our browser extension.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are typically used to remember information about you, your preferences, or your session. Similar technologies include web storage APIs and extension storage APIs, which work like cookies but are stored locally on your device.
2. How we use cookies
We take a minimal, privacy-first approach. We use cookies and storage only where strictly necessary to deliver the Service you asked for. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that profile you across sites.
3. Cookies and storage we use
3.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These are essential for the Service to function. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies because the Service would not work without them.
- Authentication session (Firebase Auth) — keeps you signed in to your account. Expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
- Locale preference (first-party cookie,
NEXT_LOCALE) — remembers the language you selected so the site shows in that language on return visits. Expires after 1 year. - CSRF / security tokens (session) — protect sign-in and payment flows from cross-site request forgery.
- Extension storage (
chrome.storage.local) — stores your account ID, cached analysis results, and UI preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless you initiate a scan.
3.2 Payment processing
When you subscribe or top up credits, our payment processor Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout page to process payments securely and detect fraud. Stripe is a PCI-DSS certified processor; we do not control those cookies. See Stripe’s Cookie Policy for details.
3.3 Video embed
Our demo video is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and loads only after you click the play button. This deliberately avoids setting tracking cookies on idle visitors. When you do click play, YouTube may set cookies in accordance with Google’s Cookie Policy.
3.4 Cookies we do NOT use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
- No session-replay or heatmap tools.
- No third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.).
4. How to control cookies
4.1 Browser settings
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, billing, and language preferences.
4.2 Extension storage
To clear data stored by the extension, open Chrome’s Extensions page, locate BS Inspector, and click “Remove” — this clears all local storage associated with the extension. Alternatively, right-click the extension icon and choose the provided option to clear cached scans.
4.3 Do Not Track
Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, we treat all visitors as if Do Not Track were enabled regardless of the browser setting.
5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy if we change how we use cookies. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
